A Shopify agency that ships its own products
TLX Apps is the Shopify practice of Tetralogicx. We build and maintain our own apps in the Shopify App Store, and we do development work for merchants — which means the advice you get about your app stack comes from people who have to live inside it.
What we actually do
Two halves of one problem: the products that sit inside a Shopify store, and the store around them.
Theme and store development
Online Store 2.0 themes, full store builds, and the section libraries that let your team run campaigns without filing a developer ticket.
Plus, Functions and checkout
B2B catalogues, payment terms, Shopify Functions and checkout extensibility, for stores that have outgrown what the standard plan will express.
We ship our own App Store products
Seven apps we build, ship and maintain ourselves. That is why a reading of your app stack comes from inside it: app blocks, extensions, webhooks, billing and review are daily work here rather than research.
- Seven apps
- App Store review, repeatedly
- Maintained on Shopify’s schedule
Integrations that reconcile
Most integration failures are silent. We build two-way syncs with retry, idempotency and a reconciliation report, so a failed sync is visible the day it happens rather than the month you notice the numbers are wrong.
- ERP, PIM and 3PL
- Retry and idempotency
- Reconciliation reporting
Support that does not stop at launch
Retained hours for fixes, seasonal work, and the platform upkeep nobody budgets for until an API version expires underneath them.
Working alongside your team
We often cover specialist areas beside an in-house team who own day-to-day changes. We will not try to displace people who are doing good work.
Three things that decide how a project goes
Products and services, one team
Because we ship apps of our own, we spend our days on both sides of the theme boundary — app blocks, extensions, webhooks, billing and App Store review are daily work rather than research.
- App Store review, repeatedly
- Theme app extensions
- Webhooks and billing edge cases
- Performance budgets on real stores
Integrations that reconcile
Most integration failures are silent. We build two-way syncs with retry, idempotency and a reconciliation report, so the failure is visible the day it happens rather than the month you notice.
- ERP, PIM and 3PL
- Subscriptions and tax
- Retry and idempotency
- Reconciliation reporting
Evidence, then work
Audits reproduce every finding before reporting it. Experiments run to a power calculation. Contrast is measured on the background a colour actually renders on. Where we cannot measure honestly, we say so.
- Findings named to file and line
- Tests powered before they run
- Reporting that includes losses
- No invented numbers
Six things we will not trade away
Each one costs us money in a specific, predictable way. That is the only reason to believe any of them.
You own everything
Code lives in your repository and your Shopify store. No licence, no runtime dependency on us, nothing to keep paying for. An audit is useful even if you never speak to us again.
The same people, month to month
On a retainer you get developers who already know your theme and your app stack. When that has to change you are told in advance, and the handover happens on our time.
We tell you when not to buy
Our own service pages argue against the services they sell. That is not modesty — work sold into the wrong problem fails, and a failed project costs everyone more than the one we declined.
- Headless is wrong for most stores
- Half of AI features should be a query
- A premium theme is often right
Evidence before assertion
Findings are reproduced before they are reported. Experiments run to a power calculation and to their planned duration. Anything we cannot measure honestly is marked unmeasured rather than given a number that looks decisive.
- Findings reproduced
- Tests powered before running
- Contrast measured on real grounds
No invented figures
We do not publish client counts, uplift percentages or testimonials we cannot attribute. If a number appears on this site it is a published Google or Shopify fact, or it is ours and we can show the working.
Written scope before work starts
Every engagement begins with a scoped written proposal. No work starts on a verbal estimate, and change requests are priced separately rather than absorbed and revealed at the end.
Where we are usually the right call
Outgrowing a premium theme
You are patching vendor code to ship changes, or performance is stuck because the theme carries features you never use.
Migrating off a legacy platform
Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or something in-house, where the redirect map matters more than the data import.
Integrations running on a nightly CSV
ERP, PIM, 3PL and subscription data moving on a scheduled export that fails quietly on a bank holiday. Supported APIs with retry and reconciliation replace the hope that nobody notices.
- ERP and PIM
- 3PL and fulfilment
- Subscriptions
Wholesale living in email and spreadsheets
B2B revenue your sales team rekeys by hand because the storefront cannot express your pricing. Native company accounts, price lists and payment terms move that onto the platform.
- Company accounts
- Price lists
- Payment terms
Needing a Shopify bench
Specialist capacity beside an in-house team, without hiring for skills you need a few days a month.
Suspecting something is wrong
Symptoms without a cause. An audit is the one engagement whose output is useful whatever you decide to do next.
Qustions for About
TLX Apps is the Shopify arm of Tetralogicx: seven Shopify apps we build and maintain, plus a development practice covering themes, store builds, custom sections, headless, app development, migration, technical audits, branding, retained support, CRO, B2B and wholesale, SEO and AI. Most of our work is on Shopify stores that already trade.
Tetralogicx is the parent company, and TLX Apps is the part of it that works on Shopify — the app portfolio and the development practice around it. Same people and same standards; the separate name exists so merchants looking for a Shopify partner do not have to work out which division to talk to.
Mostly existing Shopify stores. Very little of our work is greenfield, and the audit stage that opens most engagements exists precisely because inherited stores carry decisions nobody documented.
Yes. Shopify Plus changes how a project is built rather than simply adding features — checkout extensibility, Shopify Functions, B2B catalogues, multiple Markets and higher API limits all affect structure rather than just features. Tell us early if you are on it.
Yes, and it is common. We often cover specialist areas — Shopify app work, integrations, performance — while an in-house team owns day-to-day changes. We will not try to displace people who are doing good work.
Yes, and we have built the site so that is checkable rather than a claim. Several service pages argue against the service they sell — the headless page opens by saying most stores should not go headless.
You do. It lives in your repository and your Shopify store, with no licence and no runtime dependency on us. If you move to another agency they inherit a documented codebase.
With a scoped written proposal. No work begins on a verbal estimate, and change requests are priced separately rather than absorbed and revealed at the end.

Describe the problem rather than the service. If someone else is better placed to solve it, we would rather tell you now than three months in.
